Mitaanjigamiing Multi-Use Facility

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation Multi-Use Facility

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation is located approximately 70 km north of the town of Fort Frances, at the Northwestern arm of Rainy Lake. The reserve encompasses approximately 1600 hectares of land (18.27 square km), comprised of 14 sq.km of mainland, a peninsula, and two islands.  The purpose of this project was to create a large meeting space, capable of housing large groups for cultural, sporting, and other recreational events, and to incorporate the existing fitness center into the structure.

SCE was responsible for site design, structural design, specifications, tender, project coordination, contract administration, inspections, and assisted with reporting for the construction of an over 8,000 square foot addition to and renovation of the existing Mitaanjigamiing Multi-Use Facility.  The construction of this facility included a geothermal heating and cooling system, upgrades to the existing structure, and a new septic system.
